You know how you have those pieces in your closet that you tend to reach for time-and-time again — no matter how many times you’ve worn them?
I suppose it’s kind of like being in a food rut*; but, like, the style version…
(*Seriously, though: That food rut struggle! Mainly, the lunch rut. Anyone else get stuck eating the same shit things day-in and day-out?)
Yesterday, I had one of my offline-all-day type of afternoons, having spent most of my time at work (i.e. the SoulCycle studio).
I surfaced around 6 p.m. to an overwhelming set of white-on-red numbers glaring at me from my iPhone — as an important side-note if you’ve ever taken my class you know how much of a sweaty mess I am when I emerge from the studio. Yikes!
I’ve been wearing it with everything from pretty pink pleated skirts to wide-leg white denim, and last night was no exception. A tastefully-bulky knit (in black) always fits the bill when excessive amounts of chips and guac are involved, am I right?
(I should note, having a style go-to applies in the beauty department, too — for me, NARS velvet matte lip pencils are such a game-changer and ‘Dragon Girl‘ has been my fire-engine-looking must-have for the last month.)
What’s one of your can’t-live-without closet staples this season?
